The Gut-Brain Axis exists and it serves internal processes like digestion and metabolism.
Outside of that, when you hear people touting the importance of gut health, it’s because it can influence our mood and brain function.
Sayings like “What does your gut tell you?” and “Trust your gut” stem from this connection.
Sometimes our all intelligent monkey mind overrides our gut feeling with rationalisation and logic and societal influence on what is “appropriate”.
Are you attuned to what your gut is trying to tell you OR do you dismiss its signals?
Signals can come in the form of tension in your body, goosebumps, butterflies, a sinking feeling etc.
Next time, when you have to make a decision, try to drop into your body and listen to it for its signals to you.
