Dear Younger Me,
I want to share so many things I’ve learned over time with you.
So, I’ll start with these few that I know you’ll appreciate and likely take to heart.
Subjective Mediocrity and Talent
Talent is another word for potential. If you’re good at something you enjoy, don’t let the label “talent” stop or drive you. Just apply yourself and act no matter what.
Stuck in the Past
Ruminate all you want but not for too long. Thinking about negative past experiences and not picking up the lessons from it, won’t do you any good. Say hello to the past, and thank it for coming up while you stay in the present.
Inertia is real
If you feel stuck in a rut without any motivation or drive to move forward, get up and get a sweat in, you’ll wake yourself up and gain motivation whilst keeping your body healthy.
Don’t exaggerate the goal and scare yourself from starting
Focus on the inputs. Small or large inputs. The most important thing is to keep the inputs going. We are all ants, building a nest, slowly but surely.
Growth even if uncomfortable should be embraced
You’ll question your existence, purpose and its meaning. Experiences and challenges will help you learn about yourself and how you relate to everything around you.
Learn to communicate the heart of the matter
People appreciate sincerity and truth. People won’t remember what you say but how you make them feel.
Be kind to your family in actions and words
They love you unconditionally.
Grow your intellect and wisdom
Satisfy your curiosity in any and everything. It makes you interesting and grows your self-worth.
Love your own company
Go on solo errands, trips and dates with yourself. Self-mastery helps you become a better child, friend and partner. Bonus: You’ll speak more kindly to yourself if you like hanging with yourself.
Daily hydration, movement and good sleep
For your positive spirit, great skin and health.
Love,
Older Me
