How do I build real confidence when I constantly feel like an impostor?

I’m assuming “real confidence” is something that feels natural and second nature to you. Anything that comes naturally to you has been developed by consistency, practice and exposure. It is not about eliminating self-doubt, anxiety or fear, it is about taking consistent action despite. You build confidence in any activity by constantly showing up, learning and becoming well-versed in the subject matter and not by waiting to feel ready. Think of it as stretching your potential by stepping out of what you’re comfortable with.

Key Framework / Action Steps:

  1. Action Precedes Motivation: Say yes to any exposure to the activity you want to develop confidence in. Confidence grows with experience
  2. Track your Progress: Document and stay accountable to your commitment to becoming more confident in your chosen activity. Note and celebrate your commitment
  3. Understand the Learning Curve: Feeling unqualified usually just means you are learning something new
